"LOVE" Door Hanger
Here is my Valentines door hanger. I just finished it up today!
I had a hard time coming up with something that was not already on the web or in stores. I created a challenge for myself. What could I create that was simple, beautiful, and different? Also, what do I already have at home to make it for FREE!
I had cardboard form a diaper box, red paint, red knit jersey fabric, red/white gingham fabric, and moss.
Here is what I came up with. I "LOVE" it!
I started by cutting out letters from the cardboard box and painted them red.
While the paint dried I cut 1 inch strips of red fabric. I then gathered the fabric to make ruffles by using a wide strait stitch down the center.
I just used my hot glue gun to adhere the ruffles to the letters.
Using cardboard again, I cut out a heart shape to make the "O" in LOVE. I just hot glued the moss on.
I made 1 inch bias tape out of the red and white gingham fabric to use as a bow and string the letters together.

Our Home at the Holiday's
I love the cozy feeling of our home at Christmas. The soft glow of all the lights to the warm smells of something baking.
I like to try to change it up a little bit every year. Are you like me, you get sick of the same tree and decorations every year? This years color pallet green, brown, ivory and metallic!
Starting with the front door. I went for a simple and natural look.

Come on in!
A few red berries.
We don't have a fireplace to hang our stocking on but, they are hung on the railing with just as much care. I still need to go and get Sophia and Maxon's stockings embroidered with their names. Mommy is a slacker!
Our tree.
Dinning Room. Just don't look in my buffet! Another thing on my list of things to do.
Sophia and I with our first gingerbread house. Ha, I just noticed my teeth are a funny color from the candy we ate while decorating.
Have a wonderful Christmas!

Candy Corn Door Hanging
I know I'm jumping a head here but, I just can't shut-off my brain when it's in create mode. I've been starting to see fall and Halloween decorations popping up in all the stores around me. Naturally I want something that you can't buy in the stores plus I love the challenge of coming up with something unique.
Here's what I came up with!
I used canvas and cut-out the shapes in different sizes. Then hand painted them with fabric paint. Sewed it up and stuffed it like a little pillow to add dimension. Simple!
What do you think?

Independence Day Door Hanging
I look forward to Independence Day every year . It’s my second favorite holiday next to Christmas of course. I’ve been looking for a door hanging but everything I find is country and while I like the country look it’s just not my style. Here is the custom door hanging I made. I love it some much I wanted to share!
What you need:
Cardboard Box
Print out of U S A at 500 font size
Patriotic Ribbon
Moss
Glue Gun
Cardboard Star
String or Floss
Start by cutting out the printed U S A and use them as a template
Trace the letters on to the cardboard and cut out.
Glue and cover the letters with the moss.
Grab the string and cut a piece about 4 in.
Stretch and glue to both side like so. This will keep the letter upright and prevent it from falling forward while hanging.
Paint your star and set aside to dry.
Grab your ribbon and cut a 24 inch strip. Glue and fold 4inchs over creating a loop on both ends.
Make a large bow and glue under loop. Then adhere the star.
Add the U and glue in to place. Then take a 8 inch piece of ribbon and create one more loop.
Slip the S through the bottom loop. Then add the A.
Your done! Hang it and enjoy!
